Southern Careers Institute assist students through their education, graduation and beyond. Our career services department is dedicated to help you land that perfect job after graduation. Students are taught appropriate interview and job search skills and are given the tools necessary to find the job of their dreams.
Programs Include:

Medical Assistant:
Receive a certificate in a fast growing field. Graduates are trained in assisting doctors, patient interaction, reading vital signs, CPR, blood draw and performing ECG. It’s a challenging and rewarding position in one of the fastest growing occupations.

Pharmacy Technician:
Get hands on experience and learn skills such as pharmacy operations and procedures, weights and measures, compounding, IV preparation and the proper usage and effects of medication.

Cosmetology:
This exciting and creative career choice allows you to express yourself, while giving you the skills to work in some of the the hottest salons, hotels, spas or to even work in your own salon. Graduates are prepared to cut style and color hair, perform manicures and pedicures, perform makeup application techniques and learn about skin types and appropriate facials.

Administrative assistant:
This position is constantly in demand, and are applicable to many different industries. Some of the skills include scheduling appointments and organizing files, manage product’s conduct research as well as a number of invaluable computer skills.

Business Accounting Specialist:
This program teaches the essentials of maintaining business financial records. Skills taught include clerical coordination and record keeping practices. Graduates are able to judge independently the financial records of a business and the best actions to take in that regard.

Medical Billing and coding specialist:
Technology is changing the way medical billing and coding specialist conduct business, and Southern Career institutes is dedicated to teaching each student the most up to date technology. In addition, SCI also teaches the basics of the billing process, potentially making each graduate a vital part of any medical office.

Medical Office Specialist:
People skills are absolute necessary in this field. Those who are organized and enjoy working in a fast paid environment can find great and lucrative careers as a medical office specialist. Graduates are skilled in many areas, including medical terminology, administrative duties and a variety of other skills related to the field.
Admission Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants must also present high school diploma or GED, as well as written permission from legal guardian to enroll.
- Must be able to physically complete homework.
- Must be able to write and speak in English.
- Pharmacy Technician program applicants will not be accepted if they have a previous felony conviction. Students in the pharmacy technician program will also have their fingerprints taken, at the expense of the student.
Credit Transfer
Students with previous training or educational experience may be able to apply their credits to Southern Careers Institute. SCI will review all transfer credits and determine whether or not they are applicable. The acceptance of any credits from a previous school is at the discretion of SCI and transfer students are required to present an official transcript, showing the successful course completion.
